The 80s pop group T'Pau was named after Mr Spock's mother, apparently. As the "Pau" part of the name is pronounced "pow" and singer Carol Decker was mightily adept at socking it to us, it seemed an inspired choice of name.My favourite T'Pau hit, China In Your Hand, had a brilliant video to accompany it, which told the story of a woman's downfall in a world of stylish appartments, shoulder pads, shaggy perms and mullets.
